History

The idea behind Langlee was created in February 2005 by Julius Espedal, CEO, founder and main share holder of Langlee Wave Power AS.

Espedal (1968) graduated from NTNU, Norwegian Institute of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 1991 and has a M.Sc. degree. Mr Espedal has been working with design and business development since. He has demonstrated start-up and exit performance at his previous successful business, the company Frontec AS.

Langlee Wave Power was established August 2006. Focusing on the subsea waves with horizontal movements rather than the traditional floating point absorbers, Langlee succeded to design a wave power converter that follows the water movements rather than to fight them, even with extreme waves.

Team

Langlee Wave Power AS currently has three full-time employees. The company is assisted by its active board members and access to world-class consultants. Langlee's outsourcing strategy maximizes progress while minimizing fixed costs. A balance is maintained between in-house development of core technology and outsourcing of resource-intensive tasks to specialized suppliers.
In addition to wave-power system expertise, Langlee team strengths include project management, business development, international marketing, and product industrialization.
